syndrome (CLICKMAS el al . , 1985). Small amounts of antigen, presumably circulating in these conditions, can stimulate the production ‘of specific IgE rather than IgG. Our results would seem to support this hypothesis: the greater sensitivity of the IgE test makes it possible to recognize clinical cases of OLM which are missed with IgG ELISA. In a comprchensive laboratory diagnosis, both IgG and IgE antibody levels should therefore be determined, C. GESCHI~ M. TISELLI?

Considering the lack of complete and updated information on the status and distribution of CCHF infection among domestic animals in Ardabil province, this study was conducted to investiga...
متن کاملHaemorrhagic fever virus activity in equatorial Africa: distribution and prevalence of filovirus reactive antibody in the Central African Republic.
Seroepidemiological surveys were conducted to determine the frequency and distribution of haemorrhagic fever virus (HFV) activity in the Central African Republic. Human serum specimens (4295) were collected from 5 ecologically distinct zones. Serological evidence of HFV activity was found in all the zones. The filovirus antibody prevalence (24.4%, 1051/4295) was greater than the combined preval...
